Ocean life, sea life, marine life… it all means the animals, plants and organism which lives in and around the salty water of the ocean.
Why do we need ocean life?
Because marine organisms (Plankton) absorb carbon and produce oxygen (as trees do)!
Threats:
- Unsustainable fishing methods and bycatch
- Increasing industrie on the ocean (e.g. oil platforms)
- Increasing vessel and cruise ship traffic
- Plastic and Microplastic
- Pollution
